Referrals to TBS

La Cheim receives client referrals to its Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) program from Contra Costa County.  Clients are usually referred to the County by service providers such as therapists, case managers, social workers, or a mental health agency. 

Eligibility

Children and adolescents must meet the following requirements in order to receive TBS: 

• full-scope Medi-Cal beneficiaries under age 21
• meet criteria for medical necessity
• receives other mental health services
• currently lives in a placement of rate classification level (RCL) 12 or higher;
  or is being considered for placement in a facility of RCL 12 or higher
• transition to a lower level of care is not likely
