October 1974
La Cheim School is founded in West Contra Costa County by Victor G. Prada and Sister Claudine Hammer.

June 1975
La Cheim's first graduating seniors receive their High School Diplomas.

1980
Mental health services are incorporated into the school program.

1985
La Cheim Schools are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

1988
La Cheim is certified as a Short-Doyle Medi-Cal provider for Contra Costa County Mental Health Division.

1997
La Cheim School - Pleasant Hill receives Contra Costa County Juvenile Justice's annual Program of Excellence Award.

October 1999
La Cheim Schools celebrates a quarter of a century of service to the community.

2000
The Pleasant Hill school  receives the Neighborhood Youth Corps Award.

February 2003
La Cheim Schools receive their second six-year accreditation term -the maximum period allowable- from WASC.

October 2004
La Cheim turns thirty!.
