#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.

ABOUT LA CHEIM'S #GIVINGTUESDAY CAMPAIGN
La Cheim Behavioral Health Services provides a number of services for underserved adults, specifically our Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Survivor of Suicide Loss, and Domestic Abuse Victims Counseling programs. Thanks to generous contributions by a growing circle of donors, La Cheim Behavioral Health Services has been able to further expand its mission to include providing pro bono counseling services to local children and youth struggling to overcome significant life trauma.
Last Spring, 2017, La Cheim counselors Lili Kroutilina, MFTi, and Sean Peterson, MFTi, initiated a weekly youth leadership group at the nearby Emiliano Zapata Oakland Street Academy. Since 1973, the Oakland Street Academy has been a pioneer in helping students of color who otherwise would have dropped out of high school become college eligible and prepare for a career after graduation. Sean and Lili’s leadership group helped reconnect courageous but overwhelmed students to their inner resilience and character strengths. This year, Lili is continuing to meet individually for pro bono therapeutic sessions with students of color in emotional crisis referred to her by Street Academy -- and funded by the donors of La Cheim!
