La Cheim is an education and mental health nonprofit with a five-decade track record of making high-quality services available to vulnerable youth and adults in the greater Bay Area of California. La Cheim serves more than 500 marginalized adults and children annually. We maintain an array of individual treatment and educational programs, with a unifying goal of engaging those we serve authentically, providing effective interventions, and establishing community and family alliances to support growth and future success.
Our aim as an agency is to assure increased accessibility and availability of high-quality mental health and educational services to vulnerable populations in our surrounding communities by dismantling health and social inequities while strengthening community partnerships and collaborations. We strive to do our part in transforming the landscape of care to be more inclusive, equitable, and effective for those in need.

Youth
Caring for a troubled child or adolescent? You don’t have to do it alone. Our compassionate team is on standby ready to help you get the help you need. Our youth services include non-public school, a community mental health center, a therapeutic behavioral services program, a residential treatment center, and more.
Adults
Concerned about the mental wellbeing of yourself or a loved one? Help is here. La Cheim offers a variety of adult programs, including an innovative day treatment program that includes both a partial hospitalization program and an intensive outpatient program. Our highly skilled team is here for you.
