For adults, the CMHC offers a Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) day treatment program for those in acute mental health crisis who have Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and/or Co-Occurring Disorders (COD). Day treatment takes place 3-5 days a week and incorporates milieu, group, and individual therapy, as well as individual psychiatry – with a mix of in-person and telehealth-based service delivery. Overseen by a seasoned psychiatrist, the interdisciplinary treatment team incorporates a diverse range of prescribers, therapists, and peer providers. We help clients address a wide range of treatment conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, grief/loss, trauma, suicidal ideation, thought disorders, and relapse prevention for those in stable recovery from Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and/or Eating Disorders (ED).
Outcome measures show that on average, clients experience a statistically significant reduction in anxiety and depression measures over a successful course of day treatment attendance. Program graduates can benefit from ongoing supportive aftercare groups. Our day treatment community is known for being exceptionally rigorous yet relaxed – a warm, respectful, non-institutional setting in which adults can gather to support each other in healing and recovery.
